Award Details:

This award recognizes exceptional educators working in some capacity with students who have autism, intellectual disability, or other developmental disabilities.

Teachers may be nominated for this award by their peers, administrators, parents, or other professionals. A letter of nomination should be sent to the Awards Chair. Selection criteria include: (a) Currently teaching full or part-time, (b) Serving students with intellectual disability and/or autism, and (c) Exhibiting exemplary personal and professional skills. The teacher does not have to be a member of DADD, but preference will be given to those nominees who are members

  • Members and non-members can nominate
  • While not mandatory (except for Burton Blatt which requires at least two nominations), we highly encourage multiple nominations for each nominee
  • All nominations due by midnight on September 24, 2023
  • Award winners will be notified in mid-October and awards will be formally presented at the DADD conference in January 2024
